We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Claudia Wascher as editor of Avian Biology Research.

Dr Wascher conducted her PhD investigating social modulation of heart rate in greylag geese at the Konrad-Lorenz research station in Austria. After her PhD she broadened her expertise in the field of social cognition, investigating cognitive mechanisms underlying cooperation in carrion crows and ravens.

She has held several post-doctoral periods in international labs (CNRS Strasbourg, NTNU Trondheim, Max Planck Institute for Ornithology Seewiesen). Her main research interest being the evolution of cooperation and physiological as well as cognitive mechanisms underlying cooperation.

Presently, Dr Wascher is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Valladolid.

Dr Wascher joins us as sadly we are losing Dr Anna Wilkinson as an editor although we are delighted she will remain on the Editorial Board.

Avian Biology Research is a quarterly journal covering all aspects of ornithology. By considering a wide range of research fields for publication, in wild or domesticated species, it provides a forum for scientists in every area of ornithology.
