Avian Biology Research provides a forum for the publication of research in every field of ornithology, and articles are considered that provide novel perspectives on any aspect of ornithology be it pure or applied. Ideally, manuscripts should describe hypothesis driven investigations supported by rigorous analysis, although reviews are also welcomed. Whilst there is a wide range of suitable topics for the journal, the editors would prefer not to receive manuscripts that are too narrow in their focus, for example those involving nutritional studies, or descriptions of disease, in poultry species. Such manuscripts are more suitable for poultry-orientated journals. Any topics will be considered but potential authors should consider whether their manuscript will appeal to a broad readership. Avian Biology Research will publish all aspects of pure and applied ornithology for wild or captive species but it also caters for research that does not readily fit within the publication objectives of other ornithological journals.
