Endangered Avian Species Captive Propagation: An Overview of Functions and Techniques - Free Article

Posted on 24. April, 2015.

Birds species, like plants and other animals are facing an unprecedented decline. About 11% of bird species are threatened with extinction. Captive breeding as a conservation tool can be used as a substitute for wild populations in research and education, to provide demographic and genetic reservoirs for reinforcing or founding wild populations, and as a last resort for species that have no immediate opportunity for survival in nature.

Cleavage of carbofuran and carbofuranderivatives in micellar aggregates

Posted on 22. April, 2015.

Historically, based on carbamic acid, a large family of carbamate pesticides have been developed, and are also widely employed as insecticides. In 1988, Goto et al. reported the first synthesis of carbofuran, and also described the biological activity of various amino sulfenyl derivatives of methylcarbamate. Later, the synthesis of several procarbofurans was reported by Gaset et al. These derivatives present a substitution in the nitrogen proton by different organic groups.
