Mechanistic and electrochemical investigation of catechol oxidation in the presence of thioacetamide: application for voltammetric determination of thioacetamide in aqueous media

Posted on 1. April, 2015.

Organic sulfur compounds are commonly found in wastewater and sediments and are environmentally significant due to their hideous odour. Sulfur containing organic compounds such as thioacetamide CH3CSNH2 (TAM) have many industrial and non-industrial applications.

Advances in antihydrogen physics

Posted on 30. March, 2015.

Antimatter has long held a grip on the fascination of both scientists and the general public, though usually for very different reasons. Dirac’s famous 1931 prediction of the existence of both the positron and the antiproton (though he did confess to know nothing of the nature of the proton) holds a special place in physics.

Advances in Steroid Chemistry

Posted on 30. March, 2015.

There are many facets to modern steroid chemistry. The isolation of novel steroids, particularly as their glycosides from medicinal plants, continues to be reported. Steroids have a wide range of valuable biological activities. The exploration of routes for the partial synthesis of the less common biologically active compounds from more readily available steroid starting materials provides important objectives.

Prokaryotic expression and active immunisation against recombinant-derived prolactin fusion protein on broodiness and egg-laying in Wanxi-white goose

Posted on 27. March, 2015.

Seasonal laying and strong broodiness in the Wanxi-white goose (Anser anser), a Chinese indigenous breed, result in its low production of eggs. It is assumed that the onset of broodiness is one of the major factors responsible for egg production. Therefore, eliminating broodiness might be an effective means to improve the reproductive performance.
